The Calm Read

Privacy

Short version: your email address is used to send you the thing you asked for and a weekly email. It is not sold, rented or shared.

What is collected

Your email address, and a tag recording which video or page you signed up from. That tag exists so I can tell which videos are worth making more of. Nothing else.

Who processes it

The list is hosted by Kit (kit.com), who store and send the email on my behalf. The site is hosted by Vercel, who keep standard server request logs.

Confirmation

Signing up sends a confirmation email. You are not added to anything until you click it, and if you never click it the address is discarded.

Leaving

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. It is immediate. You can also reply to any email and ask to be deleted entirely, which removes the record rather than just marking it inactive.

Affiliate links

Some links in videos, articles and emails are affiliate links, meaning I am paid a commission if you sign up through them, at no extra cost to you. This is disclosed out loud in the video and in writing above the link, every time.

The one currently in use is Online-Therapy.com, which pays a fixed amount per signup. Being paid for a referral does not change what gets recommended: nothing is linked here that I would not send a friend to, and no company has any say over what is published.

Who runs this

The Calm Read is published and operated by Keystone System Technologies, Inc. Affiliate income and any product sales are received by that company.

Not advice

Everything published here is general communication practice. It is not therapy, not a diagnosis, and not legal advice. If a situation in your life is serious, talk to a professional about it properly.
